Operetta 2009

This year's operetta was called Santa's Quest. Santa had to help some of the other holidays to restore his own immortality. The kids all did a good job, I'm always so proud of them. My mom told me that she had 9 grandchildren in the play this year, we had every grade covered except for 6th.

This is my niece Ashley, she's in 2nd grade, they were bikers.

Emma filled in for one of the girls in the 2nd grade class because they were dancing with partners. She looked like she had been practicing with them the whole time, but she only actually practiced about three times.

This is the kindergarten class, they were Easter eggs. My nephew Aidan, with his cute little smile, and the rest of the class were a big hit. Most everybody loves to watch the kindergarten because they are just so cute at this age!
The 3rd graders were 4 leaf clovers. Here is Mason on the right, he loves to sing.

And Emma who loves to dance. They did a little Irish step dancing and I was so proud of how Emma kept her arms down at her sides where they were supposed to be.

These are the 1st graders as candy hearts. The Cutie Pie is my niece Elizabeth who is the same age as Melinda.

Here is Melinda, I had fun helping with the costumes for this class and picked Hug Me for her heart because she always wants hugs from me.

The 4th grade class were ninjas, they were Santa's protectors. The one in the middle is my niece Megan.

Andrew's class (5th grade) were skeletons.
My nephew Noah is in this class too I had a hard time getting a picture of his face, but finally got one in the second performance.

When they entered and when they did their dance they used black lights, it was pretty cool. Next year Andrew and Noah will be in sixth grade, they are the class that does all the speaking parts. I'll be kind of sad that it will be his last Operetta, but at the same time I'm excited to see how he does his first time acting. He's so animated, it should be great.
