We just had a small family party for him this year. He invited his cousins Noah and Anthony over for pizza and a movie. They had to go to scouts in the middle of it all, but later all the boys slept out in the backyard. It was just what Andrew wanted, I've always been glad that my kids are easy to please.

Andrew's 13th Birthday
It's so hard to believe that Andrew is 13. He seems so little and innocent still, and yet he's not afraid of growing up and moving on. He is so excited to go to the high school and I'm the one who is afraid. I never really know how he is going to handle things and more often than not he surprises me with what he is able to do. I guess I should be excited too, but my desire to protect my kids is kicking in big time. I guess I just need to keep reminding myself that this is good for him and it's where he needs to be and I shouldn't be worried about things that haven't even happened yet.
Andrew and his carrot cake, yum.
