She has been going around the house yodeling like Jessie ever since they saw Toy Story 3 so I knew she would love this Jessie doll. She held it while she and Gordon watched the movie again last week. It was cute, like she was letting Jessie watch herself.
And of course every girl needs new clothes for their birthday, she still prefers dresses over pants and the fancier the better, she liked this one so much she hugged it when she realized what it was. I'm hoping that she will outgrow this phase soon though, dresses complicate matters a little when you start using the potty on your own. I have already told her that she can't wear them when she goes to preschool. She's not too happy about that, but she would rather go to school than insist on wearing a dress.
I'm still unsure about how I feel with her going to school. She still seems so little, especially when I watch her carrying her lunch box into the school. She has to keep her arm bent or it drags on the ground. I'm so proud of her, she loves school already and she hasn't been scared at all to go. At the same time, it is hard to think that she doesn't need me. I need to learn to trust in the fact that even if she doesn't feel like she always needs me, there will always be times that she will.
