This is a big year for us. Andrew is in 6th grade, and Becca will be starting preschool after she turns 3 in December. I won't be all alone for a few more years, but with my baby starting school it seems way too close.
Andrew isn't scared at all, he told me he is going to have a great year. I love having my kids go to a small school where, they almost always know who their teacher is going to be next year and they are already familiar with everyone in their class.

Emma is in 4th grade this year, and so grown up. I guess I should stop being amazed because she has almost always been more grown up than she should be. She'll have another new boy in her class this year (too bad it isn't a new girl they only have 3).

Melinda is in 2nd grade and she told me that it's a little bit harder than first. It's a good thing to, I couldn't get her to challenge herself over the summer with the books she was reading, she mostly wanted to read picture books when I know she can read at a higher level.
Poor Gordon has to wait a couple more weeks before he can go back to preschool. To help him get through it we made a paper chain to help him count down the days. Now the only problem is convincing him that he only gets to take off one link a day, and getting through the countless "Are the kids coming home yet?" that I hear all day.

One other exciting thing is the new playground equipment that was installed over the summer. Gordon was feeling a little left out so I let all the kids play after school yesterday so that Gordon could try it out.
Here is Melinda.

And Andrew.
Gordon, being far too brave.
Becca, who didn't really try much other than the swings.
And Andrew.
We're all looking forward to a great year!
**I completely forgot about this until a couple days ago. The day before school started Ben was going to give the older three kids father's blessings. Well Gordon and Becca both decided that they wanted blessings too. They probably don't really understand yet, but I loved that they wanted a blessing from their dad; and Becca, who usually can't sit still for more than a couple seconds, sat and folded her arms like a pro.**

Emma is TOO grown up :) I love that she'll come to Zumba with all the Adults :) She's so full of talent and SO mature. I am jealous of the kids playing on the new playground...it looks SO fun!
