The kind of mom I want to be

I have been thinking a lot lately about the great examples of motherhood that I have all around me. First and foremost my own mother and my husband's mother. My mom is the kind of mom that is very good at doing for her family, she has always taken care of other people since she was very young and just continues doing it without question. I feel selfish in comparison, I'm always telling the kids I'm too tired or too busy with other things. Maybe this is like exercise, the more you do it the more energy you'll have for doing it. Then there is my mother in law, she is so patient with her grandchildren (all 13 of them) and I have trouble with just the 5 that are mine.
There are countless others, friends of mine who I see spending time with their children, not letting them watch t.v. all day. Or setting firm limits and sticking to them to give their kids consistency. And most of all setting an example for their children by living the gospel every day, sharing their testimonies through their actions.
I know that these women aren't perfect and most of them would rather tell you all their faults, but I'm thankful to have them in my life and one day at a time I'm trying to follow their good examples so that I can be a better mom myself.
