Gordon was a dog robot this year, at first he said that he wanted to be a dog and Andrew told him "You can't you were a dog once already, do you want to be a robot like me?" Then Gordon said "Yeah a doggy robot!" I fell in love with the idea and I was pleased with the way it turned out. Gordon thought it was cool too and it's always great when the kids are happy with their costumes. One added benefit was that he was really slow and didn't wander off at all, he couldn't see very well and so he wouldn't walk much unless I was holding his hand.

Halloween 2009
I actually made all of the costumes for this year, it was a lot of fun, and a little stressful. I have a friend who was sad because she didn't get to sew any costumes for her kids this year and before I know it my kids aren't going to need me to sew costumes for them either so I will try and enjoy it while it lasts. Now that it is over I can be proud of the results and rest up until next year.
Here is our little Minnie Mouse, Becca. She loved the dress, every time I tried it on her as I was sewing it, she would dance around and didn't want to take it off. Since Halloween I've been trying to decide how long it will be until she starts choosing her own costumes, it's so much easier when you can pick for them, but it's also fun to see what they come up with.
Melinda wanted to be a vampire princess, I was glad to see my girls branching out a little from the usual princess theme, but I thought it was cute the way she explained her costume to people. "I'm a princess that got bitten by a vampire." She even had me do two red dots on her neck.
Emma was a witch; we had a lot of fun with her costume, we even ended up making her a broom because I couldn't find one anywhere. I kept telling people that she was going to be a cute witch, but she didn't like that description, she was just a nice witch not a scary one.
And here is Andrew, our robot, I'm not sure if I would recommend the whole robot thing to anyone else, at least not with boxes, it was really hard for them to get in and out of the car. I'm not sure how else I could have done it, but he was happy with it. I'm sure Andrew will want to dress up for a lot of years still, I'm just not sure how much longer Ben will be okay with it. We all had fun and I'm glad that it's over for this year.
